Special Opening Event
with the Children's Laureate Anthony Browne
An opening double bill event of literature and theatre will kick off with a talk and reading with internationally acclaimed author and illustrator, Anthony Browne, in association with Replay Theatre Company. The Children's Laureate will introduce children to his work and explore some of the games he uses to develop imagination.
Following this, audiences will be treated to a performance of Replay Theatre Company's Mickey & Lionel
The Belfast Children's Festival is delighted to offer this event free of charge to children and families in Northern Ireland and will be inviting audience members to contribute to a collection for local children's charity Child ChildLine, a service of the NSPCC, on the night. The role of Children's Laureate, sponsored by Waterstone's, is awarded once every two years to an eminent writer or illustrator of children's books to celebrate outstanding achievement in their field.
