WANTED: Return to the Park Project Coordinator

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

Return to the Park will be an exciting partnership project between Young at Art and New Lodge Arts with the Westland Community Group. It will comprise a comprehensive outreach and community engagement building towards a larger-scale outdoor event as part of the Belfast Children's Festival in 2010.

Return to the Park follows a pilot project in 2008 and is a model for community collaboration for the benefit of children and young people. For its success, the successful candidate will lead a programme of outreach, engagement and education activities with local community partners, residents, schools and youth groups and stimulate cross-community cooperation through hands-on activity and shared planning.

This is a part-time temporary freelance post with flexible working hours. The successful candidate will have an exciting challenge of overseeing, planning and administration as well as artistic development, evaluation and operational management of the advance work and planning.

LOCATION: Belfast, based at New Lodge Arts and Young at Art (as well as site visits)

WORKING HOURS: part-time freelance (24 hours per week x 33 weeks) Working hours will include some office hours plus evenings and weekends as necessary.

DEADLINE: 12 noon Monday 14 December 2009
